A practical hub for receiving, testing and learning

ECS is building its own composting facility in Bredaryd. The site serves three purposes:

A practical hub for receiving, testing and learning

1.

Reception of selected organic materials (starting with horse manure from local farms and stables).

2.

Demonstration & training for operators and students.

3.

Pilot & development to test new process ideas and optimize real-world recipes.

What we receive

  • Horse manure: We accept deliveries from nearby farms/stables against a tipping fee. The facility provides a compliant outlet and turns a difficult waste stream into a resource.
  • Sludge (selected cases): Managed via public procurement routes; details are coordinated case by case.

Our facility

What you can do here

See the process live

Follow the full line, from reception and pre-treatment to in-vessel processing and post-treatment. It’s the quickest way to evaluate throughput, mixing and air handling for your future plant.

Bring your own feedstock for a pilot run

Unsure if a drum fits your material? Run a supervised test and get data on retention time, temperature curves and output quality.

Train your team

Hands-on sessions for operators and managers, including recipe setup, PLC/HMI routines and daily checks. Universities and vocational programs are welcome.

Co-develop improvements:

We use the site to trial new configurations, refine airflow and mixing, and verify upgrades before they reach your facility.

Process control you can measure

The heart of the line is our in-vessel technology with controlled transport and retention time. Internally, the drum uses a series of engineered blades to mix, lift and convey material in a predictable pattern—key to achieving the temperature-time profile required for hygienization. Remote access lets ECS monitor, adjust and troubleshoot in real time.

Air handling for indoor installations

For sites that must run indoors, we demonstrate and discuss air handling systems tailored to aggressive process air—an essential design topic for worker safety, odor control and compliance.

Who is it for?

Horse owners & stables seeking a reliable outlet for manure

Municipalities and waste operators evaluating hygienized, traceable processing

Large farms exploring nutrient recovery and compliant application routes

Prospective ECS clients wanting proof on their own feedstock

Universities & training partners needing a real plant environment
